Tucker Herndon Featured in Kane's Beverage Daily on Amazon's Whole Foods Merger

In an article published on June 29, 2017 in Kane's Beverage News Daily, Tucker Herndon provides insight on Amazon's recent acquisition of Whole Foods, and how it will affect the future of the industry. Herndon told the publication, "It's going to be the biggest game changer for the alcohol beverage space and the grocery space." By buying Whole Foods, Amazon has adopted the privilege of an off-premise license that unlocks their ability to deliver alcohol legally. This acquisition allows Amazon to enter the grocery space and simultaneously claim brick-and-mortar stores to utilize as hubs for delivery service. Herndon assured Kane's that Wal-Mart's going to figure out a way to compete with Amazon, predicting a legislative battle that within the next 15 years, ends with everything being purchased online. "Big Blue will figure out a way at the end of the day to be competitive. I think this erodes more of your local grocery stores, the chains that might be limited to one state or region, but I think Wal-Mart Bentonville is an amazing system, and is more of a logistics company at the end of the day."
