Two Burr Atlanta Attorneys Recognized by Atlanta Legal Aid Society for Pro Brono Service

Firm News

Burr & Forman announces that two Atlanta-based attorneys have been honored as "50 Hour Stars" by the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. Partner, Jim McCarten, and Associate, Tala Amirfazli were both recognized for their outstanding contribution to the local community through the donation of pro bono hours.

The State Bar of Georgia encourages attorneys to provide at least 50 hours of pro bono services each year that will make a difference for those who do not have the means for legal services. Pro bono service is constituted as law related work that goes without compensation.

The Atlanta Legal Aid Society recognizes those individuals each year who go above and beyond 50 hours of service.

At Burr, McCarten is in the Corporate and Tax Practice Group where he works with a broad spectrum of clients in the tax arena, including start-up businesses, mid-market family businesses, publicly traded entities, retired corporate executives and business owners looking to transfer or sell their business. Amirfazli is in the firm's General Commercial Litigation Practice Group where she specializes in business disputes and financial services litigation.
