ATLANTA, February 28, 2018 - Burr & Forman LLP recently hosted the Atlanta Bar Association 2018 Minority and Diversity Clerkship Program interviews. The program, sponsored by the Atlanta Bar Association, Atlanta law firms and the law schools at Emory University, University of Georgia, Georgia State University, John Marshall and Mercer University, was created to increase and integrate the number of minority and diverse attorneys practicing in Atlanta law firms by facilitating their placement in first-year summer clerkships.

The bar association works closely with Atlanta area law firms, corporate legal departments and Georgia's five accredited law schools - The University of Georgia School of Law, Emory University School of Law, Georgia State University College of Law, Mercer University School of Law, and Atlanta's John Marshall Law School - to find either part-time or full-time clerkships for minority and diverse first-year law students. Although great strides have been made recently, the legal profession still struggles to attract diversity.
