In an article published in Law360 on October 24, Bryance Metheny is quoted discussing the implications and compliance concerns that companies and workers are now dealing with after the Ninth Circuit ruling in O'Connor v. Uber, and now DoorDash.

Future suits that also have plaintiffs bound by arbitration agreements have the potential to wield similar outcomes.

"The trends we've seen will likely continue until employers decide whether or not arbitration agreements in the way that they're being used is actually efficient for their business model," Metheny said. "We're so early in this process with this type of economic system that a lot of folks really haven't come to terms with whether this is ultimately good or bad."
