Callie practices in the firm's general corporate group, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. Her practice regularly involves negotiating purchase and sale documents, conducting and managing due diligence. She has had a wide range of experience with mergers and acquisitions in the manufacturing and renewable energy industries, as well as more service-oriented industries such as restaurants and health clubs.
As part of her corporate practice, her involvement includes negotiating purchase and sale agreements for the acquisition of land, equipment or existing projects, company formation and assisting with site review and entitlements.
Callie is also experienced in private equity investments and business organization, and has advised clients in connection with preferred stock offerings, investment structuring and forming new businesses. In addition, Callie regularly advises her clients on day to day corporate matters, such as drafting and negotiating terms and conditions of sale, leases and other necessary operating contracts. Callie received her B. A. in History from the University of Virginia in 2000, and her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2003. During law school, she was Articles Editor of the Alabama Law Review, a Hugo Black Scholar, a recipient of the Dean M. Leigh Harrison Award and a member of the Order of the Coif. She serves as a member of the firm's Recruiting Committee.

I am a member of the Junior League of Birmingham, where I have served as Admissions Chair and Project Review Chair. I also serve with the Ballet Guild of Birmingham and Cantebury United Methodist Church.
What was your first job?
If you don’t count babysitting, my first job was as a lifeguard at Blossomwood Pool in Huntsville.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy running (have completed several half-marathons), traveling, music and spending time with my husband and children.
What advice would you give to a young student in law school?
Work hard, but also maintain a good balance in your life, because it makes transitioning into work that much easier.
