In relation to her bankruptcy practice, Darlene represents McTevia & Associates in connection with the non-judicial receivership and liquidation of Norwalk Furniture related entities, including dispute resolution. She also served on the special counsel team underwriting a §363 sale of hospitals, free and clear of claims of local governmental entities.
In real estate, Darlene represents automotive suppliers establishing their first manufacturing facilities in the United States, including tax incentives based on job creation. She represents Diamond Hill Plywood Company in connection with warehouse acquisitions and dispositions. She also represents Curb Realty, Inc. in connection with real estate acquisitions in Florida, New Mexico, North Carolina and Tennessee, including commercial, residential and cultural centers. Darlene’s clients include investors acquiring agricultural real estate in the Middle Tennessee area.
As part of her environmental practice, Darlene represents Kwik Sak Real Estate Holdings, LLC in connection with environmental compliance for convenience stores located throughout Middle Tennessee. She coordinated the clean-up and remediation of an abandoned firing range attached to a closed U.S. Air Force base, to facilitate a CERCLA cost recovery action. She acted as the lead counsel for Judd Road Properties, LLC, the Brownfield developer of an abandoned manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as well as Atlanta Properties, LLC, a Brownfield developer of a medical office building on the site of an abandoned gas station in Atlanta. She has also defended civil and criminal Superfund enforcement actions against the owner of a manufacturing facility in East Tennessee.
