Joe Letzer

Joe is the Chair of the firm’s Litigation section. He specializes in complex commercial and franchise litigation, having tried cases representing both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts in fourteen states. As Lead Counsel, he has obtained, on behalf of clients, jury verdicts and settlements in excess of $1 million in more than 25 cases. He has also represented clients in numerous administrative hearings and appellate courts nationwide, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

Joe received his B.A., cum laude, in 1971 from Heidelberg University. He also attended American University in Washington, D.C., and the London School of Economics. He received his J.D. in 1975 from the University of Alabama School of Law. During law school, Joe was a member of the Alabama Law Review and Order of the Coif. What community organizations are you involved in?
I am an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 63 in Birmingham. I firmly believe that Scouting is the best activity a young man can undertake to prepare himself for life.
