Burr & Forman partner Michael Lasky was quoted in Law360 on Sept. 24, 2012, discussing the anticipated impact of Apple's injunction against Samsung Electronics. After a jury ruled in favor of Apple last month on counts of patent infringement by Samsung, the highly-watched case continues to present questions about the future of Samsung's product design. "Based on the jury's verdict, an injunction is likely in the cards, but a broad order that bars Samsung from selling products that include elements of Apple's design patents could force the company to revamp its entire product line," Lasky told Law360. "The injunction is the most important thing. It's more important than the money. There's no practical way to make the injunction concise enough so that Samsung is certain about what its future rights are." The article is available to Law360 subscribers here.
