Burr & Forman expands Intellectual Property Practice with new Atlanta Partner, Robert Lockwood.

Burr & Forman LLP is pleased to announce that Robert H.G. Lockwood has joined as an Atlanta-based partner in the firm’s growing Intellectual Property practice. Lockwood is the second lateral hire to join the group since December. He was previously a member at Miller & Martin PLLC in Atlanta.

“Expansion of our intellectual property capabilities is part of our firm’s strategic growth plan,” explained Jack P. Stephenson, Jr., chair of Burr & Forman’s Business Section. “Robert’s experience and solid understanding of both the legal and business issues involved in the development and protection of intellectual property will benefit our clients and expand our current service offerings. His reputation as an outstanding IP practitioner makes him a great addition to our growing group.”

Lockwood serves clients with a range of IP needs, including counseling, licensing and prosecution. His practice involves trademark, trade dress, copyright, domain name and technology issues; IP audits and policies; and the evaluation and management of IP portfolios.

Lockwood earned his undergraduate degree from The College of William & Mary, and his law degree from Widener University School of Law. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Pennsylvania State Bar and the State Bar of Georgia. He is also active in the International Trademark Association.

TESTIMONIALS

  • “He approaches problems from a business solution perspective. He is very skilled at negotiations with other lawyers. Very easy to work with and not confrontational. He is passionate about what he does and he is somebody who loves to do what he does mostly to solve problems, not to bring people down. He really tries to find a win-win solution for all parties involved and he gets a lot of pleasure out of that.”
