Six Burr & Forman Attorneys Selected as 2013 Lawyers of the Year

September 13, 2012

Burr & Forman LLP is pleased to announce that six of its partners have been designated as “Lawyer of the Year” in their respective practice areas for 2013 by Best Lawyers in America.

Only a single lawyer in each practice area and metropolitan area receives the honor, which is awarded based on voting averages received during the publication’s annual exhaustive peer-review assessments. The “Lawyer of the Year” designation reflects the high level of respect an attorney has earned among other leading lawyers in the same communities and practice areas for their abilities, their professionalism, and their integrity.

The Burr & Forman attorneys selected as “Lawyers of the Year” and their respective practice areas are:

Birmingham

John F. DeBuys, Jr., Land Use & Zoning Law

John C. Morrow, Transportation Law

Mobile

Marion A. Quina, Jr., Admiralty & Maritime Law

H. William Wasden, Labor Law – Management

Nashville

Lawrence R. Ahern III, Litigation-Bankruptcy

W. Davidson Broemel, Insurance Law

Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which more than 36,000 leading attorneys cast almost 4.4 million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.” The complete list of 2013 “Lawyers of the Year” is available at www.bestlawyers.com.

  • “I have found them very responsive to our requests and requirements, and very knowledgeable of the relevant areas. They are conscious of cost containment and getting the job done. They don’t just churn paper and create billable hours. Everything they do is directed toward achieving our aims. They want us as the client to understand where things are and what our options are, and make sure we understand the consequences of all the options that are available to us. They let us pick door number one or door number two in the knowledge of what we’re leaving behind. They are able to resolve issues using common sense and reasonableness. We speak very highly of them.”
