Burr & Forman has an experienced Government Investigations and Enforcement team that understands government investigations and can assist clients in responding to and defending against government inquiries.

Our clients include businesses and individuals facing accusations of criminal and civil violations as well as those who have come under enforcement or regulatory scrutiny. Team members have:

  • Represented parties in matters before the Department of Justice ("DOJ"), Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC"), Federal Bureau of Investigation ("FBI"), Department of Defense ("DOD"), Department of Health and Human Services ("HHS"), Food and Drug Administration ("FDA"), and state Attorney General offices
  • Represented parties in grand jury and other criminal proceedings
  • Investigated as outside counsel claims of HUD fraud, accounting irregularities, and other financial misdeeds
  • Represented parties in matters involving antitrust and false advertising investigations before the Federal Trade Commission ("FTC")
  • Served as in-house counsel during various federal and state investigations
  • Prosecuted public and private corruption in the state Attorney General’s office
