  • Burr and Forman announces major win in medical malpractice suit in a jury trial in Tallapoosa County Circuit Court involving an emergency room physician. The suit claimed that the physician failed to correctly diagnose septic arthritis in the patient’s knee, which caused the patient to die several days later from complications arising from septic shock. After reviewing the hospital records and autopsy report, the expert concluded the patient’s cause of death resulted from a compromised immune system and not improper care. After a four day trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the physician after only 30 minutes of deliberation.
