Overview

Amy serves as first chair counsel and a highly experienced legal advisor to C-suite, senior management, in-house counsel, and human resources personnel regarding strategic initiatives, corporate compliance with state and federal employment laws, and risk/litigation issues. She is admitted to practice in multiple states throughout the Southeast and supports a broad range of industries including food and beverage, retail, manufacturing, automotive, and banking.

Amy regularly provides advice and counsel to executive-level management employees and in-house legal counsel regarding:  wage and hour issues, reductions in force, mergers and acquisitions, immigration compliance, labor relations and union avoidance, employee investigations and discipline/termination, third-party vendor contracts, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, preparation and review of employee handbooks, and the development of human resource policies and procedures. Amy also regularly provides training to management and non-management employees on compliance with federal and state employment laws. Amy leads federal and state agency investigations and litigation of individual and class claims arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and numerous other federal and state employment laws.

Amy has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, and during law school she served as Managing Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review and was listed on the Dean’s List.
