Bret is an Associate in Burr & Forman's Birmingham office, where he practices in the firm’s Litigation and Products Liability Sections.

Bret received his Juris Doctor with honors from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. While in law school, Bret served as a Writing Editor for the Cumberland Law Review and as a Judge Abraham Caruthers Fellow. As a member of Cumberland’s Law Review, Bret was voted the Most Outstanding Junior Member of the Cumberland Law Review and was also a five-time Scholar of Merit.

Prior to attending law school, Bret received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors Distinction, as well as magna cum laude, from Birmingham-Southern College. While in college, Bret served as a Teacher’s Assistant to Dr. V. Markham Lester, W. Michael Atchison Professor of History, and Dr. Randall Law, Associate Professor of History and Chair of the Lupton Area, for European Civilizations I. The History Faculty also presented Bret with the J. David Fraley Award, which is presented annually to the senior history major who has written the most distinguished paper for that year in the departmental senior seminar.
