Commercial / Corporate Litigation Construction Appellate Labor & Employment

J.D. is an associate in the firm's General Commercial Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on several areas of litigation including construction, appellate, labor & employment and financial services.

While attending law school at Mississippi College School of Law. J.D. served as Managing Editor of the Law Review. J.D. clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit under the Honorable Judge James Graves for the 2015-2016 term.

As a first year law student, J.D. advanced as a national semifinalist in the 2012 ABA Representation in Mediation Competition. J.D. was selected as a pupil member of the Charles Clark Chapter of the American Inns Court and awarded the Reuben V. Anderson scholarship.  Additionally, he received American Jurisprudence Awards for the following subjects: Legal Research I, Domestic Relations, First Amendment, and Pretrial Practice.

While at Mississippi State University, he was a member of the National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Societies, and Student Government Association Community and Government Affairs Committee.  After attainment of his undergraduate degree, J.D. worked for a year at the United States Department of Agriculture in its Rural Development division.
