  • Represented road contractor in appellate reversal of $7.5 million "wrongful death" jury verdict. Auto accident occurred 6 years after the contractor's work was completed and accepted by the state transportation department

John is a litigator in the firm's Torts Trial & Insurance Practice Section.

John specializes in a variety of legal topics including toxic torts, engineering and mechanical defects, construction defects, motor vehicle accidents, trucking/commercial auto, work site accidents, product defects, dram shop/social host, and premises liability.  He also advises several small and medium sized businesses on a variety of day-to-day legal matters.

John believes that being a “good lawyer” is as much or more about being a “good person.” As such, he has served on several not-for-profit Boards and regularly gives back to both the community and his profession. John is currently serving on the Editorial Boards for both The Brief Magazine as well as Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Journal which are publications of the American Bar Association, Torts and Insurance Practice Section. John is also serving a 4 year term on the Board of the Mobile Public Library, a semi-public official position. He has also been appointed to a Board position on the Mobile Downtown Alliance, an organization dedicated to improving the work-life environment of downtown Mobile.

John lives in Mobile, is married (Margaret Sue), and has one daughter (Margaret).
