"I set out on a career to impact policy for significant change. I am fortunate to work with clients to advocate for transformative legislation. Collaborating with clients to amend legislative policies in meaningful ways is what excites me and fuels my work."

Overview

Relationships and political know-how help Lynn consult with a wide variety of clients in the South Carolina State House, local governments, and corporate institutions. With more than 35 years of experience, her level of intellectual influence has resulted in a wide array of victories. These include successfully lobbying to increase Beaufort County's appropriation of EFA dollars to the county that had received none for five years, lobbying and passing the South Carolina Fairness in Civil Justice Act which established caps for punitive damages in civil lawsuits, increasing the budget for the state's Adjutant General, and legislation to exempt taxation of pay to military retirees. Her work over four years resulted in legislation that mandates seat belts for those riding in the front seat. She serves a range of projects and clients, from a state resource for advocacy and education for its not-for-profit senior care providers, to a multinational technology corporation that produces computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and related services. Focused on the people of South Carolina and their best interests, Lynn's efforts were instrumental in passing two bills that provided economic development incentives for a regional bank seeking to significantly increase its presence in the state through the expansion of its corporate headquarters and successfully defeating legislation that would have restricted counties and their ability to manage waste and recycling in their jurisdictions.

Lynn dedicates her passion for positive change to her community. She currently serves as one of the Education Directors at the Palmetto Girls State and is a member of the Columbia College Board of Visitors. She has provided leadership to the Boards of The Advocacy Group, Nickelodeon Theatre, Trustus Theatre, Boy Scouts of America Steering Committee, the Girl Scouts of South Carolina – Mountains to Midland, 100 Women Who Care, Midlands, SC, and served as an Ambassador of the South Carolina State Ports Authority. As a result of her volunteerism, Lynn was honored with the Medallion Award from Columbia College and was inducted into the Women of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of South Carolina.

Lynn enjoys spending time with her children, reading, gardening, and traveling with her family. Lynn earned a B.A. from Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina.
