Anthony Cross-Examined

What community projects are you involved in?

American Cancer Society

What was your first job?

My first job was refereeing an eight year old boy’s and girl’s basketball league. It was a lot of fun, but the parents heckled me as if it was always game seven of the NBA Finals.

What are your hobbies?

Following all University of Alabama sports, fishing, golfing, playing/watching various sports, cooking, and raising my Doberman Pinscher (Apollo).

What advice would you give to a young student in law school?

Put in the time and effort to study as hard as possible, especially during the first semester. Second, whenever you finish reading a case ask yourself the question “why,” as in why are you being asked to read that case, and why did the ruling come out the way it did. If you understand the purpose of the cases relative to the big picture of the course, along with studying as hard as possible, you will put yourself in a good position to succeed.

How do you spend your weekend?

In the fall, I spend my Saturdays attending University of Alabama football games with friends and family. In the off season, I am usually fishing, relaxing, or playing some type of sport with friends or family.
