About Eric
Eric F. Hatten, Partner, practices in the firm’s General Commercial Litigation section focusing on representing clients in the financial services sector and intellectual property matters. Eric’s practice also includes representing lending institutions in working out troubled loans, foreclosing on collateral and litigating against borrowers and guarantors as a result of defaulted loans and other credit facilities.
In addition, Eric’s background includes insurance defense work, product liability litigation, nursing home litigation, malpractice defense and general tort litigation. He is admitted to practice in Mississippi, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Eric is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Mississippi Bar Association and the Hinds and Madison County Bar Associations.
Since 2010, Chambers USA has named Eric as a “Leader in their Field” in the area of general commercial litigation.
Eric received his B.A., cum laude, in 1992 from Millsaps College and his J.D. in 1996 from Mississippi College School of Law. During law school, he was recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Practice and Procedure.
