About India
India’s areas of practice include intellectual property, technology, business planning, and corporate transactions. She assists her clients in creating, developing, growing, managing and selling their business. As part of those efforts, India works with clients to determine appropriate strategies for protecting and licensing their intellectual property, including trademarks, service marks, patents, trade secrets, and copyrights, and advises clients regarding contractual relationships with customers and vendors. India works with clients in all industries, including the software, technology, biotechnology, entertainment, health care, and manufacturing industries. She is licensed to practice in Alabama and Georgia.
India has mentored teams for Alabama Launchpad, a nonprofit organization formed by six of Alabama’s research universities and the business community to help fuel the development of high growth companies in Alabama. She also serves on the Board of the Birmingham Venture Club. India regularly conducts seminars on intellectual property issues, licensing strategies & negotiations, and general contracting issues.
India participates in the International Trademark Association and serves on the Emerging Issues Committee. She is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, the Alabama Bar Association including the Intellectual Property Section, the Technology Law Section of the Georgia Bar, the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. She is a member of the Patent Bar.
India is a member of the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2009 class of “Top 40 Under 40” honorees and is currently listed in Best Lawyers in America.
India received her B.S. in Computer Engineering from Clemson University and her M.S., in Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering at North Carolina State University. Before attending law school, India worked as an Engineer for Michelin Tire Corporation. She received her J.D., from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
