About Megan

Megan practices in the firm’s Financial Services practice group. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where she was the winner of the Judge James O. Haley Trial Competition and was a member of Cumberland’s nationally ranked Trial Team for two years. In addition, she was the recipient of a Dean’s Merit Scholarship and the 2009 American Board of Trial Advocates Award. Megan was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and a Caruther’s Fellow. She received her B.A., cum laude, from the College of Charleston.

What is your favorite thing about the law?

I like that every day presents a new challenge.

What was your first job?

When I was in high school I worked in the Aiken Mall at Sam Goody’s selling CDs.

What are your hobbies?

Mostly I enjoy riding and showing American Saddlebred horses, but I also enjoy golfing, reading and relaxing with friends and family.

What advice would you give to a young student in law school?

As hard as it may be, try not to let other people stress you out. Each person has their own way of learning and understanding things. Find out what works best for you and stick to it.

What is your favorite lawyer joke?

People make jokes about lawyers?

How do you define a “good day?”

Really, every day is a good day. It is just good in a different kind of way.

How do you spend your weekend?

Hopefully riding my horse, walking my dog, visiting with friends and relaxing.
