About Eric
Eric practices from the firm’s Mobile office, where he is a member of the transportation and maritime section. His LL.M. research and writing focused on marine oil pollution liability, while his post-graduate coursework covered almost every aspect of the maritime operational environment. While at Tulane, Eric was also a recipient of the Harry F. Stiles, Jr. Scholarship for Maritime Studies. In addition to maritime work, Eric has litigation experience in complex international litigation, ranging from the Law of War to anti-terrorism finance litigation to securities actions.
As Editor-in-Chief of the South Carolina Journal of International Law & Business, Eric coordinated a symposium to address the issues facing both state and regional ports in the coming decades. Eric also has an extensive military background including working with the Military Commission Defense Counsel as a Research Assistant and as a Special Forces combat veteran. He has received numerous military honors and is a successful advocate for veterans’ rights.
With a mind for service, Eric taught at-risk teens for a year between completing his Army tour and entering law school. He is an avid fan of trawler styled expedition vessels, and he plans to circumnavigate the globe when he retires.

What community projects are you involved in?
I am always on the lookout for a veteran in need.
What was your first job?
I was too young to remember the first, but I’m sure it was something disgusting—and something my two older brothers, older cousins, or uncles did not want to do, or something they convinced me was cool to do.
What are your hobbies?
I read a lot. Typically, I’m reading a historical novel or anything about boats and ships. I also design and redesign how I would want my expedition boat detailed.
