About David
David serves as Chair of the firm’s Financial Services Litigation Section, and has represented banks, finance companies, and mortgage companies in all areas of statutory and common law litigation, as well as in asset based recovery actions. David also has extensive experience with enforcing arbitration agreements and with corresponding litigation before various arbitration associations.
In addition, David is a frequent speaker on issues involving financial services litigation, including most recently the Dodd-Frank Act, and he is the co-author of Burr & Forman’s monthly Dodd-Frank Newsletter. David’s recent publications include an article in the Alabama Defense Lawyer’s Association Journal entitled, “The Dodd-Frank Act: Important Points for Financial Services Litigators ,” and an article in the IADC Alternative Dispute Resolution Newsletter entitled “De-Construction on Hall Street: Circuit Courts Take a Detour on Manifest Disregard.” David also broad experience in handling both medical malpractice and personal injury claims.
David is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, the South Carolina State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association, the International Association of Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute. In addition, David was listed in The Best Lawyers in America for 2011 in the field of commercial litigation and was recognized by Alabama Super Lawyers in 2011 for Business Litigation.
