About Ed

Ed practices with the firm’s Commercial Finance & Banking, Business Planning and Mergers & Acquisitions groups in the Atlanta office. He has practiced law since 1988 and is admitted to practice in Georgia, Maryland and Tennessee. Ed has extensive experience representing capital providers and capital users in middle market and large corporate transactions, including: accounts receivable and inventory finance; mezzanine debt; health care finance; joint ventures; leveraged acquisition finance; private equity investments; equipment finance; unsecured finance; letters of credit finance; asset securitizations; media, high tech and telecommunications finance; real estate finance; loan syndications and participations; workouts and restructurings; secured party sales; debtor-in-possession finance; and loan sales.

He frequently writes and speaks on corporate finance and other legal topics with the National Business Institute, Lorman Education Services, and the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia, as well as the Emory University Law and Religion Program and other organizations. Ed has been listed in The Chambers Directory of Leading Law Firms and Lawyers in the Banking and Finance category, The Best Lawyers in America in the Banking and Finance category and in Georgia’s 2007 Who’s Who Legal in the Banking category.

Ed has published literary, humor and theological essays in a variety of journals, periodicals and blogs, including “Sunstone”; “Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought”; “The Sugar Beet”; “By Common Consent”; and “Irreantum”. He is a Board member of the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University where he also runs an informal “Tour the Bible Through the Carlos Museum” program for church and synagogue groups on Sunday afternoons. Ed is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the Atlanta Metro Chamber of Commerce.
