About Eric

Eric practices in the Commercial Litigation section, with an emphasis in complex litigation. In the context of commercial litigation, Eric’s practice has included large scale commercial class actions involving banks, utilities, and automobile dealerships; representation of businesses in complex contract disputes and business fraud cases; and cases involving franchisee or distributor rights. In addition to practicing in Alabama, Eric has practiced before state and federal courts and agencies in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas.

Eric has developed specific expertise in handling disputes between automobile dealers and their manufacturers with respect to vehicle allocation issues and the addition or relocation of dealers within a market. He has represented automobile dealerships before courts and agencies throughout the country.

Eric also has experience in environmental litigation matters and is a member of the Environmental Section of the Alabama State Bar and a member of the Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law Section of the American Bar Association.

Eric received his B.A. from Cornell University in 1989, where he completed a double major in Chemistry and History and graduated cum laude. He received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Eric was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1992 and is a member of the of the American Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

What is your favorite thing about the law? My favorite thing about the law is that it is always changing and different. I enjoy being able to solve complex legal issues on behalf of clients.

What was your first job? My first job was as a cook at a Pizza Hut.

What are your hobbies? I enjoy mountain biking and hiking.

How do you enjoy spending your weekends? I enjoy spending my weekends with my family.
