About Robert

Robert’s practice is in the areas of real property, business organizations and transactions, taxation, probate, and bankruptcy (creditor’s rights) in both trial and appellate courts.

Robert is a 1993 graduate of Auburn University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He received his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University, serving as both Student Materials Editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and Teaching Fellow for the Legal Research and Writing Program. He clerked for Justice Reneau Almon of the Alabama Supreme Court before joining the firm in 1997, and received his LLM in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law, with High Honors.

Robert is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Mississippi and Alabama, as well as the Fifth and Eleventh U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal.

What is your favorite thing about the law?

That we get to help clients fix their problems or achieve a favorable result.

What community projects are you involved in?

I am an ordained deacon at Springhill Presbyterian, and also serve as the chair of the Adult Christian Education Committee. I am also a member of the President’s Advisory Council for hte University of Mobile, and a member of the Board of Trustees for St. Luke’s Episcopal School.

What was your first job?

Lifeguard/Swim Coach

What are your hobbies?

Golf, hunting, fishing, basketball, and playing (and transporting to various activities) three small children!

What advice would you give to a young student in law school?

Grin and bear it…it gets better!

What is your favorite lawyer joke?

None— my ears turn off when someone starts the joke!

How do you define a “good day?”

A good day at work means that I accomplished everything I intended to accomplish, and helped a client fix a problem or finish a transaction.

How do you spend your weekend?

Usually attending multiple kid’s events, with work and church thrown in for good measure.
