About Jeff

Jeff’s practice involves general civil defense concentrating in the areas of construction defect, transportation, premises liability and commercial litigation. Jeff is a member of the state and federal Bars of both Alabama and Florida and actively tries cases in both states. He serves as the firm’s principal Florida litigator.

Jeff received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law where he served as Managing Editor of the Alabama Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree from the Citadel as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He served four years as an Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army, and currently holds the rank of Major in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the U.S. Army (Reserve).

What is your favorite thing about the law?

I enjoy working with my clients to resolve problems they are experiencing and work to develop ways to avoid problems in the future.

What community projects are you involved in?

I am Chairman of the Staff Parish Relations Committee at Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile. I also serve as a Den Leader in my son’s Cub Scout Pack.

What was your first job?

I was a summer camp swimming instructor at a camp in Plymouth, Massachusetts, teaching children to swim.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy spending time with my wife, our two sons and our English Bulldog. I also enjoy woodworking, kayaking, and camping.

What advice would you give to a young student in law school?

Don’t assume you know what area of the law you will practice when you start law school. Try different things— you may be surprised.

How do you spend the weekend?

I spend one weekend a month defending soldiers who get into trouble as a Jag Officer and Senior Defense Counsel in the Army Reserve. Otherwise, I try to spend as much time with my boys as they can stand.
