What is your favorite thing about the law?
I love that the law is always changing and evolving. It keeps you on your toes. Work is never boring, because I hardly ever do the exact same thing twice. Either the facts or the law is different.
What is your hobby?
I actually make scrapbooks when I have the free time. I love to take pictures, and scrapbooking is a great way to keep track of them all. Ten years from now when I look back at my books, I will be able to recall all the memories surrounding the pictures.
I have also picked up golf. I am currently taking lessons to improve my game. I am no where near-ready to play a full 18 holes, but I am having a great time learning. It is a lot harder than it looks on TV!
What advice would you give to a young student in law school?
Your first semester in law school is the most important, so work really hard during those first few months. However, you must keep in mind that law school is only one part of your life. It is easy to get wrapped up in it all, but you must maintain a life outside of school. Take time off and hang out with friends, go shopping, hit golf balls, etc. Balance and time management is the key.
How do you spend your weekend?
One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is to drive around town and look at houses. Even though I am not in the market for a new house, I love to see what is out there.
