About Mike
Mike’s practices in the firm’s Banking and Real Estate section where he specializes in representing national and regional banks, insurance companies and other lending institutions in the negotiation and closing of acquisition, construction and permanent loan transactions secured by commercial real estate. Mike also represents lending institutions in closing asset-based lending transactions and in restructuring loans of all types.
A substantial part of Mike’s practice involves transactions originated in and/or secured by collateral located in the State of Texas. He has represented a Birmingham-based life insurance company in closing its Texas real estate loans for over 20 years, and represents Texas-based lenders with regard to loans secured by commercial real estate projects located throughout the southern United States.
Representative Experience
Represented a national bank in closing a $40,700,000 loan to finance the construction of a 558 unit multifamily apartment project in Dallas, Texas.
Represented a regional bank in closing a $25,110,000 loan to refinance the existing debt on a retail shopping center located in Houston, Texas and to provide construction financing for an additional phase of retail space.
Represented an operating company and its affiliates in closing a revolving credit, swing line and term loan facility in the maximum principal amount of $210,000,000 made by a group of national bank and regional bank lenders.
Represented a national bank in closing a $60,000,000 maximum revolving line of credit loan to an automobile dealer and its affiliated finance company secured by security interests in accounts receivable and inventory.
