Derek Meek Named to Turnaround Management Association Hall of Fame

Burr and Forman Partner Derek Meek has been named an honorary member of the global Turnaround Management Association (TMA) Hall of Fame.

TMA is the world's largest organization dedicated to corporate renewal, restructuring, and distressed investing. TMA’s members can be found around the world and include attorneys, accountants, advisors, liquidators, and consultants.  

Meek's TMA involvement includes leadership roles at the organization's local, regional, and global levels. He served as Chapter President at his local chapter, TMA Alabama, in 2016. At the Global level, he has served in several leadership roles, including Corporate Secretary, Vice President of Chapter Relations, Chapter President's Council Chair, Global President, and Global Chair.

At Burr, Derek serves on Burr and Forman's Executive Committee and as the chair of the firm's Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy practice group. He focuses on bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters. He represents debtors, creditors, committees, asset purchasers, and other clients in insolvency, financial distress, and bankruptcy, both in and out of court.

Derek is among four previous chairs inducted during the 2023 TMA Annual Conference in San Francisco.
