Burr & Forman’s Amy Jordan Nominated for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Woman of the Year”

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year (MWOY) campaign is a fundraising competition in communities across the U.S. in which participants vie for the title of Man or Woman of the Year. They raise funds for blood cancer research in honor of local children who are blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year. The titles are awarded to the men and women in each community who raise the most funds during the ten-week campaign; the top local fundraisers in the country also win the national titles.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funded research saves lives. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s continued advancements over the years are responsible for a remarkable increase in the blood cancer survival rate. And many Leukemia & Lymphoma Society supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They’re even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funded drugs like Gleevec, Sprycel, Arinza, Tasigna and Zolinza are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
