Burr Lands Veteran Land Use Lawyer in Orlando

A Florida Bar Board Certified lawyer in City, County and Local Government law, Monaco joins the firm after nearly 15 years as an Assistant County Attorney for Orange County Government.

“Vivien brings a wealth of knowledge and experience related to land use and zoning laws, and the continued resurgence of the commercial real estate economy across Florida requires that we bolster our real estate capabilities with her talent and perspective,” said Jim Pratt, managing partner of Burr & Forman’s Orlando office. “The feedback that we have already received from clients who have heard about Vivien’s arrival to our firm has been extremely positive, particularly among the development community, and we look forward to working with her to better serve our clients with full-service real estate capabilities.”

At Burr & Forman, Monaco will serve public and private clients in areas related to environmental, land use, zoning and growth management law, and will assist them with matters relating to transportation, impact fee, permitting, approvals and entitlement issues.

“I have had the great pleasure of working with Jim Pratt and other Burr & Forman attorneys during my time with Orange County,” said Monaco. “Not only have I observed the outstanding legal skills they bring to the table, but I have always been impressed by the highest ethical standards that Burr & Forman attorneys display in their work. I look forward to working closely with the firm’s attorneys across Florida to provide clients with a complete range of real estate services.”

Monaco serves as Treasurer of The Florida Bar’s Environmental and Land Use Section, and is past chair of the City, County and Local Government Section. She is also a member of the American Bar Association. Monaco serves as an adjunct professor at Barry University School of Law.

Monaco was named among Best Lawyers in America in 2013 for Government Relations and was recognized the same year on Florida Trend’s Legal Elite list for Government/Non-Profit Law. She holds the highest rating assigned by Martindale-Hubbell.

She received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin, and her master’s degree in business administration and juris doctorate from Stetson University.
