Burr & Forman's Paula Barnes Inducted as President of the Association of Legal Administrators

Nashville, Tenn. - Burr & Forman LLP is pleased to announce that Paula K. Barnes, legal administrator in the firm's Nashville office, was inducted as president of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA). Barnes is the first Nashville resident to serve in this international leadership position, serving the organization's 9,000 members worldwide who are involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments and government legal agencies. She was inducted on May 23rd at the ALA's 2014 Annual Conference & Exposition in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"Her dedication to the leadership and advancement of the members of the ALA is admirable and we know the organization will benefit from her perspective and hard work," added Jim Lowery, chief operating officer of Burr & Forman.

Barnes joined Burr & Forman when its Nashville office opened in 2006 and has over 13 years of experience as a legal administrator. Her ALA resume includes both chapter and regional leadership positions. She has served as secretary, vice president and two terms as president of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of ALA. She is a previous projects officer, and member of the Conference Planning and Nominating Committees for ALA Region 2, which includes the Southeastern United States. She is a frequent speaker on topics related to management, leadership and coaching/mentoring.

Barnes earned her bachelor's degree from Grand Canyon University and her master's degree from Baylor University.
