Deidra Byrd is an associate in the firm’s Charleston office where she practices in the firm’s commercial litigation group.
Deidra’s litigation experience includes easement acquisitions and condemnation matters for utility companies. She also works with title insurance companies and homeowners insurance companies in litigation matters. In the financial and banking sectors, Deidra has experience handling litigation matters including partition actions, quiet title actions, foreclosure proceedings and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
In 2019, Deidra was named to The National Black Lawyers – Top 40 Under 40 list. She is active in the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division as a member of several committees, including involvement on the Convention Committee. Deidra also serves as a board member of various non-profits in the South Carolina.
Before joining the Firm, Deidra served as a judicial clerk for the late Honorable Tanya A. Gee of the 5th Circuit At-Large and the Honorable Benjamin H. Culbertson of the 15th Circuit. Prior to her career in the legal field, Deidra worked in the banking industry.
