Ryan is an Associate in the firm’s Financial Services Litigation Practice Group where he focuses on defending financial institutions and lenders from various litigation brought under federal statutes, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth-in-Lending Act, and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. Ryan also defends clients in mortgage-related disputes and other consumer financial services litigation brought under state and federal law.
Ryan is licensed in the state and federal courts of Alabama, Missouri, Kansas, South Carolina and West Virginia, representing clients in each of these jurisdictions. In addition to consumer financial litigation, Ryan also handles various general commercial litigation matters.
Prior to joining Burr & Forman, Ryan served as a law clerk to United States District Court Judge Brian S. Miller of the Eastern District of Arkansas. Ryan earned his law degree, with Honors, from Emory University School of Law, where he served as Executive Managing Editor of the Emory Law Journal.
