Overview

Scott Steady is a Partner in the Real Estate and Environmental & Land Use practice groups. He has extensive experience in the resolution of land use, local government, and environmental issues. He also excels in developing and implementing strategies to address environmental problems and gaining approval for various development proposals for a variety of clients.

Scott advises clients involved with contaminated properties through their remediation and redevelopment. He is currently lead counsel on two federal Superfund sites and for a number of significant state and local remediation sites. He also serves as outside special environmental counsel for a large Tampa Bay municipality.

Scott has extensive experience in obtaining land use approvals such as zonings, plan amendments, site plan approvals and approvals of developments of regional impact. He has dealt with a number of land use related administrative processes and appeals. As a former assistant city and county attorney, he has broad experience in general local government law and currently represents a number of Community Development Districts.

Experience

  • In the process of completing the successful remediation of a Superfund Site Located in Tampa and one in Alabama.
  • Works with the City of Tampa regarding zoning enforcement matters and serves as a Special Magistrate for numerous petitions filed pursuant to Chapter 70.51 FS, the Florida Land Use and Environmental Dispute Resolution Act.
