Walker is an associate in the firms’ Tort, Trial & Insurance practice group in the Birmingham office. His practice focuses on representing insurers in matters involving a large range of topics related to litigation and coverage, from providing opinions on insurance policy rights and obligations to defending insurance clients in litigation involving contractual and extra-contractual/bad faith or fraud litigation.
While Walker is a third-generation litigator, he began his legal career as an in-house attorney at a large, privately owned company operating in the construction industry. This role exposed Walker to a broad array of regulatory and transactional matters to compliment his current, litigation-oriented practice, and afforded him unique insights into the needs, exigencies, and expectations of his corporate clients.
Walker graduated magna cum laude from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 2016, where he served as Editor in Chief of the Cumberland Law Review and a member of Cumberland’s Student Advisory Board. Before law school, he worked as an associate editor at the Oxford American magazine (a Southern literary/music quarterly), where he solicited, edited, and fact-checked the magazine’s music and nonfiction pieces. He also spent time on Capitol Hill as a congressional intern while pursuing his bachelor’s at Hampden-Sydney College.
In his spare time, Walker enjoys books, music, Atlanta Braves baseball, and traveling with his wife Laura, who is also an attorney.
