Burr & Forman's Nashville Managing Partner, Thomas K. Potter, III, chaired a panel on the SEC's and MSRB's new Municipal Advisor Rules at the national meeting of the National Society of Compliance Professionals held October 20-22 at National Harbor, Maryland. The 2010 Dodd-Frank Act expanded federal regulation of the municipal securities market's participants and mandated extensive rulemaking in that space. The new regulatory regime for Municipal Advisors under the SEC's MA Rule and implementing MSRB Rules is discussed in the Panel materials, here:
