Burr’s Beth Shirley Named to Birmingham Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar”

Birmingham Partner Beth Shirley has been recognized in the Birmingham Business Journal's 2020 "Best of the Bar Award for Excellence in the Legal Profession.” Those selected to the “Best of the Bar” are recognized as Birmingham’s brightest legal minds. These individuals not only excel within their practice area and firm but also give back to their community.

At Burr, Beth is a member of the firm's Cybersecurity Group and Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and Electronic Transactions Group. She advises clients on data privacy law compliance, investigating and addressing data breaches, cybersecurity, breach notifications, policies and procedures, electronic contracts and signatures, and litigation involving these and other areas. Beth also holds a CIPP/US certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional.

Additionally, she is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group where she has tried numerous cases in federal and state court jury and non-jury trials, as well as arbitrations, throughout her career. These trials range from corporate liability for monetary damages to corporate and municipal liability for bodily harm. Elizabeth is also a member of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee, Diversity Committee and Wellness Committee.
