Welcome Law StudentsEvery summer, Burr & Forman hires rising second and third year students from top ranked law schools nationwide to clerk in our offices throughout the Southeast. Our summer clerkships are designed to expose students to not only the wide ranging areas of the firm’s full-service practice but also to the firm’s culture. Summer associates interact with firm attorneys daily while completing meaningful assignments in a variety of practice areas. We strive to provide opportunities for summer associates to gain “hands on” experience, including through interaction with clients and attendance at trials, deal closings, mediations and depositions. Each student is also assigned a partner and associate mentor. These mentors offer instruction and feedback on assignments as well as guidance during the summer clerkship. Summer associates are further exposed to the culture of Burr & Forman through social activities outside of the office, including sporting events, dinners, classes, and other local experiences. Our goal is to not only allow summer clerks to experience the type of work we do but also who we are.

Cultivating Professional Networks
Burr & Forman balances a fulfilling work environment with a number of planned social and professional networking events such as volunteering for local charities, baseball games, bowling, canoe trips, hockey games, family cookouts, and more. Law students in our summer law clerk program cultivate their professional networks while developing enduring friendships that last throughout their careers.
