Burr & Forman Adds South Florida Counsel to Boost Cybersecurity and IP Practice Group

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., July 14, 2017 - Burr & Forman LLP announces the addition of Fort Lauderdale-based counsel Jeff Kamenetsky to the firm's Cybersecurity and Intellectual Property practice group. A registered patent attorney, Kamenetsky brings experience in helping businesses protect some of their most valuable assets, whether it be from cyber incidents or to proactively build an IP portfolio.

Kamenetsky counsels clients on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, as well as trademarks, copyrights and litigation. He counsels businesses on comprehensive IP portfolio development and management; post grant proceedings; invalidity and non-infringement studies; preparation of license agreements related to patents, trademarks and copyrights; and handles trademark oppositions and intellectual property disputes. He also counsels his clients on the prosecution of U.S. trademark applications and works closely with foreign counsel to coordinate the filing and prosecution of foreign trademark applications.

Kamenetsky represents clients in all aspects of patent prosecution for various complex technologies, including cloud computing, computer networking, e-commerce, internet, telecommunications and database applications, as well as mechanical-based inventions, medical devices and software.

Recognized by his peers for his commitment to client service and legal excellence, Kamenetsky has been honored among the Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and Managing Intellectual Property magazine, to name a few, and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is past president of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Florida, and he is an active member of The Florida Bar and the International Trademark Association.

Kamenetsky earned his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, his master's degree from Hofstra University and his law degree from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Kamenetsky served as an electrical engineer for the United States Air Force.
