Burr & Forman Expands Across the Southeast with Addition of Two Attorneys
Burr & Forman LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Andrew T. Spence and Kate A. Hamilton.
Andrew T. Spence joins the Intellectual Property practice group as Partner in the Charlotte office. His practice focuses on patent procurement and protection in electronics and computer technology. Andy has significant experience handling complex patent matters for companies in various fields and covering a number of diverse technologies, including telecommunications, aerospace and e-commerce. He has handled patent matters related to wireline and wireless networks, personal communication service and cellular communication and data encoding/decoding; economic modeling, computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), signal processing, flight simulation, radar, antenna, microwave engineering and micro-computing, as well as online real estate and travel services. He is also an award-winning author and a regular speaker on patent law matters both domestically and abroad. Andy received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri.
Kelsey E. Burgess joins the firm’s Orlando, FL office as Associate in the Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy practice group. She works with debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and other interested parties in matters involving Chapter 11 bankruptcies, out-of-court workouts, and related transactions. She also has experience in a variety of corporate matters, including business formations, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial lending. She earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and her B.S. from the University of Central Florida.
