Burr & Forman's India Vincent Featured in Birmingham Business Journal's Special Cybersecurity Section

Firm News

The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated an increase in employees shifting to remote work environments in their homes – a shift that caused increased cybersecurity threats to businesses. With more companies fully embracing remote work, the Birmingham Business Journal published a special section on safeguarding IT infrastructure and confidential information amidst a remote work environment. Burr Partner and Chief Privacy Officer India Vincent was featured in this special section.

The feature shares insights from thought leaders on the latest recommendations for businesses on how they can defend their companies against cyber-attacks, how they can safeguard their IT infrastructure in a remote environment and more.

India said, “Remote working requires an organization to step-up its cybersecurity efforts because it increases the number of endpoints or potential access points in the system; it takes devices outside of the secure environment the organization controls; it may introduce new types of devices to the system; and it introduces workers who are more likely to be multitasking.”
