Burr Welcomes Francis Morency to Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy Practice Group

Burr is pleased to announce that Francis Morency has joined the firm's Tampa office as an associate. Francis's practice focuses on creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation matters across a variety of industries. 

“We are excited to welcome Francis to the firm,” said Derek Meek, leader of the firm’s Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy practice group. “His experience working with businesses and financial institutions on bankruptcy and collection matters, along with his thoughtful, strategic approach, will be a great asset to our team.”

Francis represents businesses and financial institutions in litigation involving breach of contract, collection actions, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, and judgment enforcement. He is experienced in all stages of litigation—from case assessment and pleadings to discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation. Francis regularly appears in state and federal courts, guiding clients through complex legal issues with practical, strategic solutions.

A graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law, Francis has a diverse legal background, including internships with federal and state courts, NextEra Energy, and work as a student attorney in a small business start-up practicum. He served as Managing Editor of the Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice and earned a book award in Core UCC. Before law school, he taught Civics and Law Studies in North Miami.

In his free time, he enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with his partner and their three dogs.
