Burr Welcomes Shannon Humiston to Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy Practice Group

Burr is pleased to announce that Shannon Humiston has joined the firm's Wilmington office as counsel. Shannon’s practice focuses on corporate reorganizations, creditors’ rights issues, and litigation arising in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases.

“We are thrilled to welcome Shannon to the firm,” said Derek Meek, leader of the firm’s Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy practice group. “Her deep experience representing lenders, creditors, and trustees in complex bankruptcy and litigation matters, combined with her strong advocacy and strategic insight, will be an invaluable addition to our team.”

Shannon provides strategic, results-driven counsel to a broad range of stakeholders, including secured and unsecured creditors, trustees, lenders, landlords, and debtors, throughout the restructuring process, ensuring they understand and fulfill their roles. She brings extensive experience representing creditors in commercial Chapter 11 cases and litigating complex business disputes in Delaware state courts, including the Court of Chancery. Known for her collaborative approach and deep legal insight, Shannon is a trusted advocate in both courtroom proceedings and out-of-court negotiations.

In addition to her legal practice, Shannon is deeply committed to community service. She regularly serves on non-profit boards, volunteers at her children’s school, acts as a guardian ad litem for children in Delaware’s foster care system, and leads pro bono efforts such as expungement clinics to promote access to justice.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware.
