Sundaram-Clayton Limited, a leading manufacturer and supplier to the automotive industry, is expanding its operations in Dorchester County. The company's $40 million investment is projected to create 100 new jobs in the community.

Sundaram-Clayton Limited, part of the $6.5 billion TVS group, is a leading Indian manufacturer and supplier of aluminum cast products to global original equipment manufacturers. The company established its first South Carolina operations in Ridgeville in 2017, where it manufactures aluminum high-pressure, die-cast products, and permanent mold gravity cast parts for its customers.

The company will be expanding its Ridgeville facility by 78,000 square-feet and is expected to begin hiring in the second quarter of 2019. The additional space will accommodate new equipment, increasing the capacity for the plant.
