Mobile Partner Bess Creswell Appointed as a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Middle District of Alabama
Mobile Partner, Bess Creswell was recently appointed as a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Middle District of Alabama. Bess joins other Burr & Forman alums who have gone on to become bankruptcy judges including Jason Woodard, appointed as a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Mississippi, and James J. Robinson, appointed as a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.
At Burr, Bess' practice included representing debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditor committees and fiduciaries in workouts, debt restructuring, bankruptcy cases, financial transactions, non-bankruptcy offensive and defensive litigation and maritime financing and foreclosures.
Prior to joining Burr & Forman, Bess practiced bankruptcy, creditors' rights and commercial litigation at Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. Bess also served as law clerk to The Honorable Ray C. Mullins in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia. She earned her J.D. in 2004 from Wake Forest University School of Law, her M.B.A. from the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business and her B.A. in accounting and trust management from Campbell University.
