Overview

Brandon Boykin is Of Counsel in the firm’s General Commercial Litigation practice group. He represents clients in a wide range of business disputes and draws on more than a decade of trial and investigative experience as a federal and state prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western and Eastern Districts of North Carolina. In that role, Brandon managed complex criminal and civil matters, including white-collar investigations, financial fraud cases, drug trafficking cases, and matters involving national security. As lead counsel, he routinely and successfully tried both jury and bench trials to verdict, with a win rate of more than 98%; developed litigation strategies for high-stakes cases; and negotiated complex case resolutions. He also served as an assistant district attorney in Wake County, North Carolina, where he prosecuted cases ranging from DUI to homicide.  Previously, Brandon worked for an Am Law 100 firm on their medical malpractice team, where he successfully defended North Carolina doctors against claims of negligence and malpractice.

Brandon’s background includes leading multi-agency initiatives, conducting in-depth legal research, and coordinating with law enforcement partners across jurisdictions. He has extensive experience preparing lay and expert witnesses, creating evidentiary presentations, and handling sensitive investigations, including those involving money laundering, wire fraud, and other financial crimes. His ability to navigate complex fact patterns and legal issues enhances his advocacy for clients in high-stakes commercial disputes.

Away from the office, Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife, Shelby, and rooting for the Tennessee Volunteers and Denver Broncos. A past Division 1 football player, Brandon is also heavily involved with mentoring young athletes.
