Overview
Dana is an Associate in the firm’s Tampa office where she serves in the Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Practice Group. Dana is a solution-oriented insolvency practitioner who represents a diverse array of clients, including banking institutions, municipalities, real estate developers, title insurance groups, and retail shopping centers in commercial bankruptcy cases, as well as in business litigation, commercial litigation, appeals, and general civil litigation. Dana’s practice includes all aspects of corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, and insolvency proceedings, including Section 363 sales, preference, and fraudulent transfer litigation. Dana commits to being responsive and thorough as she helps clients through complicated situations while mitigating risk and maximizing business growth.
Prior to joining Burr & Forman, Dana clerked for the Chief United States Bankruptcy Judge Caryl E. Delano for the Middle District of Florida. During her clerkship, she assisted with complex bankruptcy and state law issues. She has also served as a Trial Court Staff Attorney in the Office of Court Counsel for the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida. While there, she advised circuit court judges on substantive and procedural issues in trial and appellate cases.
Dana earned her J.D. and M.B.A. from Stetson University College of Law and her B.S. from the University of Tampa. Dana also studied abroad at the University of Oxford.
Dana is actively involved in several professional organizations, including serving on the boards of the Federal Bar Association, Tampa Bay Chapter, and the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation. Dana endeavors to promote diversity and inclusion within the insolvency profession and the advancement of diverse individuals in the insolvency community and the bankruptcy bench. Outside of work, Dana enjoys cooking with her family and strives toward a healthy work/life balance.
