Overview

Justin currently serves as a Patent Agent in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group, with a focus on patent prosecution, IP litigation support, and portfolio strategy. He leverages his technical background and legal training to deliver strategic IP guidance to clients across a wide range of industries.

Prior to law school, Justin worked as a technical specialist at a prominent Silicon Valley law firm, where he focused on patent drafting and prosecution for high-profile clients including Meta and LG Display. He also gained experience at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures, conducting prior art searches and evaluating emerging technologies. These early roles provided him with a strong foundation in the patent process from both legal and technical perspectives.

Justin earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he concentrated on intellectual property and emerging technologies. During law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Susan Miller Jones in the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida and was an active member of both the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Association (IPTLA) and the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA), further deepening his involvement in the legal community and IP field.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering (double major) from Johns Hopkins University, equipping him with the technical depth to handle patents across a broad range of technologies, including software, telecommunications, and semiconductor devices. He applies this expertise to guide clients through all stages of the patent process, including patentability analysis, claim drafting, and prosecution before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Justin has experience managing complex patent portfolios and drafting applications involving multi-inventor disclosures, standards-aligned specifications, and technically dense subject matter. He frequently collaborates directly with inventors, in-house counsel, and technical teams to develop tailored patent strategies aligned with each client’s commercial and R&D goals.

He is particularly interested in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, 5G/6G telecommunications, and systems-on-chip (SoC) design. He regularly drafts applications involving AI-driven network optimization, intelligent device behavior, wireless signaling procedures, and advanced semiconductor architecture.

Upon admission to the Florida Bar, Justin will transition into an associate role within the firm’s IP group, continuing to build his practice at the intersection of law and advanced technology.

With a unique blend of technical precision and legal insight, Justin helps clients protect and maximize the value of their innovations in an increasingly complex IP landscape.
